Yes. At this time the system
only provides information about
relative changes in cytokine levels like cDNA microarrays. We are developing
other systems, that can quantitate the expression levels of one cytokine
from hundreds and thousands of samples simultaneously. We referred this
system as enhanced protein array. Our strategy is to use cytokine antibody array to
screen the cytokine changes from limited samples and identify key
factors. After identification of key factors, investigators will quantitate
the cytokine levels from almost as many samples as you have at the same
time. This is the best strategy for the project, particularly if
you have many samples to work with. Please keep in mind that the system is
extremely inexpensive and no other company can compete with such
low prices.

The sensitivity varies from cytokine to cytokine, but is similar to ELISA. Most of them can be detected at low pg/ml level. The
difference in sensitivity is mainly determined by antibodies.

Some of our customers are trying to reprobe the
membranes, however, we do not have definite information at this time. We will share the information when it becomes available.

The membranes are approximately 2x3 cm. It fits into
a 8 well tissue culture plate.

Not all cytokines were tested. Most of those
tested cytokines do not cross-react with bovine cytokine. However, some
cross-reactivity was seen, such as IL-8, G-CSF and TGFb-1. We strongly urge our
customers to use low serum-conditioned medium for the experiment. If high serum is necessary, run control
a experiment at the same time.

RayBioTM Cytokine Antibody Array I, III, IV
& V are specifically designed to detect cytokines
in conditioned medium, serum, plasma and urine. RayBioTM Cytokine Antibody Array 1.1, 3.1, 4.1
& 5.1 are specifically designed to detect cytokine expression
in cell lysate and some tissue lysates.
