Specificity

This product recognizes 8-hydroxyguanosine (8-OG), a modified base which occurs in DNA as a result of oxidative stress. 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) has become a sensitive marker of oxidative damage in cellular DNA and has been reported to be excreted in the urine. Levels of 8-OHdG have been shown to increase on exposure to ionizing radiation and tobacco smoke. This product cross reacts completely with 8-OHdG.

This product does not cross react with other naturally occurring nucleotides.

Storage/Stability

Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.

This product should be stored undiluted.

Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
