Preparation:
Antiserum to human ezrin was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.

This product detects a band of approximately 80kDa in human placenta and duodenum cell lysates.
Specificity
This product specifically recognizes human ezrin, otherwise known as villin 2, an 80kDa cytoplasmic peripheral membrane protein and member of the ezrin, radixin, moesin (ERM) protein family, which acts as protein-tyrosine kinase substrate.
Ezrin is enriched in microvilli and other cell surface structures and plays a key role in cell surface structure adhesion, membrane trafficking, motility and organization. Ezrin acts as a linker protein between the plasma membrane and the actin cytoskeleton, and provides anchorage for cell surface molecules such as ICAM and CD44. Studies have implicated ezrin in the metastatic capacity of various types of human tumours including breast, prostate, bone and colon cancers.

Storage/Stability
Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
