Preparation:
Antisera to rat IL-6 were raised by repeated immunisations of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.

The addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended for long term storage.
N.B. For functional studies do not add sodium azide.
Specificity
This product recognizes rat Interleukin 6 (IL-6).
Rat IL-6 is a 22KD cytokine which stimulates the growth and survival of certain B and T cells.

Storage/Stability
Prior to reconstitution store at +4 °C. Following reconstitution store at -20 °C.
This product should be stored undiluted.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 12 months after receipt.
