This product specifically recognizes the relatively conserved E60 peptide (amino acid sequence SSWKQRNRWEWRPDF) located within the V3 region of FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) envelope glycoprotein SU,gp95.
The primary receptor for FIV infection of cats has been identified as the T-cell activation antigen CD134 which, along with CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4), facilitates the infection of CD4+ primary target cells, resulting in a depletion in the CD4+ population. Studies have shown that the V3 loop of SU,gp95 is a major immunogenic domain, suggested to contain the main determinants for the binding of FIV SU,gp95 to CXCR4, see Sundstrom, M. et al. for details.
This product does not recognize Feline Leukaemia Virus, Feline Herpes Virus type 1, Feline Coronavirus or Feline Calicivirus.
Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
