This product reacts with a 32-36 kDa glycoprotein, a membrane protein expressed on guinea pig lymphocytes and Langerhans cells. The antigen is anchored to the cell membrane via phospatidyl-inositol linkage and mediates T-cell activation ("guinea pig T-cell activation antigen"). The antigen is also associated with lymphocyte adhesion and homing.
