Antigen Information

Target Species:
  • Human

Antibody Specifications

Applications:
ELISA (recommended work dilution= For Sandwich-based ELISA and membranebased assay, detecting level is up to 1pg/ml when it is used for capture), Western Blotting (recommended work dilution= 0.1-0.2 µg/ml)
Preparation:
Immunogen was recombinant protein derived from human IL-1 beta. This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with the immunogen. The IgG fraction of tissue culture supernatant was purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Reconstitution:
Supplied as lyophilized purified antibody. It can be reconstituted with sterile PBS before use. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Description

IL-1 production is generally thought to be associated with inflammation, but it is has shown to be expressed during kidney development, thymocyte differentiation and cartilage degradation. IL-1 plays a critical role in the regulation of immune response and inflammation, acting as an activator of T and B lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cells. In T cells, IL-1 stimulates the production of IL-2 and selectively inhibits IL-4 expression. IL-1 induces B cell proliferation and maturation, and immunoglobulin synthesis. NK cells require IL-1beta for production of the anti- pathogen IFN-?. IL-1 has also been implicated in several pathological conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease and atherosclerosis.

Specificity

This antibody was selected for its ability to detect human IL-1beta in Sandwich ELISA and Array. In ELISA, this antibody shows approximately 5% cross-reactivity with human IL-RI, and no crossreactivity with other tested antibodies.

Storage

Store at -20°C, if not intended for use within a month, keep it at 4°C and minimize freezing and thawing when use.
