Immunohistology:
This product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin embedded sections prior to staining. This product does not require antigen retrieval prior to staining of paraffin sections.
This product recognizes human mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule 1 (MAdCAM-1), a 60kD cell surface protein that is involved in lymphocyte trafficking. MAdCAM-1 is expressed on high endothelial venules of Peyer's patches and mesenteric lymph nodes. MAdCAM-1 expression has also been reported in the gut lamina propria but This antibody reacts with the ligand-binding first Ig domain and reports suggest that a splice variant exists in the gut which is not recognized by This product This product is reported to block the interaction of MAdCAM-1 with alpha 4 beta 7, see Leung, E. et al. for details.
