This product detects a band of approximately 145kDa in rat cortex lysate.

This product recognizes the carboxy terminus of neurofilament M (NF-M), one of three neurofilament proteins (NF-H, NF-M and NF-L). Neurofilaments are 10nm or intermediate filaments found specifically in neurons, with especially high concentrations along the axons, where they appear to control axonal diameter. It is thought that phosphorylation of NF-M results in the formation of interfilament cross-bridges that are important in the maintenance of axonal calibre.

This product has also been determined to bind to a C- terminal epitope of bovine NF-M SEE IMAGE.

Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
