Escherichia coli Beta-Galactosidase is an inducible tetrameric enzyme coded by the lac Z gene of the lac operon that is often used as a reporter to assess the efficiency of transfection. It is a metalloenzyme that splits lactose into glucose and galactose. It hydrolyzes terminal, non-reducing beta-D-galactose residues in beta-D-galactosides.

Phosphate buffered saline
Storage/Stability
Prior to reconstitution store at +4°C.
After reconstitution store at -20°C.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. This protein may be stored for12 months from date of reconstitution.
