This product detects a band of approximately 36kDa in MCF7 cell lysates.
This antibody recognizes human BRCA1/BRCA2 complex subunit 36 (BRCC36), a 36.7kDa nuclear protein.
BRCC36, together with BRCA1, BRCA2, Rad51 and BRCC45, forms a holoenzyme complex that possesses an ubiquitin E3 ligase activity.
Studies have demonstrated that BRCC36 functions in enhancing cellular survival following DNA damage and that it is essential for ionizing radiation induced BRCA1 phosphorylation and nuclear foci formation.
Research has shown that BRCC36 is aberrantly expressed in the majority of breast tumours indicating a potential role in the pathogenesis of the disease. It has been hypothesized that BRCC36 could be a potentially important target in the treatment of radiation-resistant breast tumours.
Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
