This product detects a band of approximately 24kDa in Ramos whole cell lysates.

This antibody recognizes an epitope within the C-terminal region (CT) of Activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID), a 24kDa homologue of the RNA-editing cytidine deaminase enzyme, APOBEC-1.

Although the molecular mechanisms by which AID acts remain unclear, a growing number of studies reveal a requirement for AID during somatic hypermutation (SHM) and class switch recombination (CSR). These genetic modification events take place within highly specialised B cell germinal centers, during the final maturation stages of B cells, giving rise to high-affinity antibodies which use CSR to switch from IgM to IgG, IgA or IgE isotypes.

Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
