Applications:
ELISA (recommended work dilution= 1:80000 or 12.5ng/ml), Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)
Immunogen Sequence:
CSDRDYMGWMDFGRR
Preparation:
Immunogen was a synthetic peptide derived from human cholecystokinin (aa 94-106). This antibody was produced from a rabbit immunized with the immunogen. The IgG fraction was purified from rabbit serum followed by Protein A/G affinity chromatography.
Reconstitution:
The purified antibody is supplied lyophilized originally containing PBS without any preservative stabilizers. The final amount is indicated on the shipping vial. The lyophilized antibody is stable for at least a year from the date of receipt when stored frozen at -20°C to -70°C. It is suggested that the antibody is reconstituted with sterile PBS and can be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for months without detectable loss of activity. Upon reconstitution, the antibody can also be stored for months at 4°C.
Cholecystokinin (CCK) is a regulatory peptide hormone, predominantly found in the gastrointestinal tract, and a neurotransmitter present throughout the nervous system. In the gastrointestinal system CCK regulates motility, pancreatic enzyme secretion, gastric emptying, and gastric acid secretion. In the nervous system CCK is involved in anxiogenesis, satiety, nociception, and memory and learning processes. Ghrelin and cholecystokinin (CCK) are among the peripheral signals that regulate hunger and satiety.Together with secretin and gastrin, CCK constitutes the classical gut hormone triad. In addition to gallbladder contraction, CCK also regulates pancreatic enzyme secretion and growth, intestinal motility, satiety signalling and the inhibition of gastric acid secretion. CCK is, however, also a transmitter in central and intestinal neurons.
The antibody can specifically bind to its immunogen, and did not show any cross reactivity with unrelated antigens in ELISA. The specificity for binding to recombinant protein, cellular protein and native antigen is not defined. Cross reactivity with mouse and rat cholecystokinin was confirmed.
The lyophilized antibody may be stored at 4°C if intended for use within a month. Please store at -20°C for longer term storage. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
