Antisera to CD257 (BAFF) were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbit with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by ion exchange chromatography.

Specificity
This product recognizes CD257 (also known as BLyS, BAFF, TALL-1 and THANK), a novel member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. CD257 and its receptor TACI/BCMA are involved in the development of autoimmune diseases.
CD257 has been shown to activate NFkB and JNK (c-jun N-terminal kinase) and induce apoptosis.

Storage/Stability
Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
This product should be stored undiluted.
Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
