Preparation:
Antisera to human CD283 were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by ion exchange chromatography.

This product detects a band of approximately 103.8kDa in human Daudi cell lysates.
Specificity
This product recognizes human CD283, otherwise known as toll receptor 3, a 103.8kDa member of the evolutionarily conserved toll-like receptor family (TLRs), expressed at high levels in the placenta and pancreas and also expressed by dendritic cells.
TLRs play an important role in the recognition of invading microbial pathogens during innate immunity, acting through adaptor molecules such as MyD88 and TRAF6. CD283 acts via a cytokine signaling pathway to induce the activation of NF-kappaB and type I interferons, and has been shown to recognize double-stranded (ds) viral RNA, including that of the Influenza A and West Nile virus.
This product has been shown as suitable for use in IHC on EL4 cytospins at 1ug/ml.

Storage/Stability
Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
