This product detects a band of approximately 33kDa in A549 cell lysate
This product recognizes the human CD82 antigen, also known as KAI1, SAR2 and TSPAN27, a multi-pass membrane protein of approximately 30kDa belonging to the tetraspanin (TM4SF) family.
CD82 has been identified as a cancer metastasis suppressor protein, while ubiquitously expressed at moderate to high levels in many normal tissues, its expression is down regulated during tumour progression. Loss of CD82 and p53 is correlated with poor prognosis for patients with prostate and other forms of cancer.
Research has demonstrated that CD82 interacts with CD234 (DARC). It has been hypothesized that tumour cells dislodged from the primary tumour and expressing CD82 interact with CD234 expressed on vascular cells, transmitting a senescent signal to the tumour cells. Tumour cells that have lost CD82 expression can proliferate and potentially give rise to metastases.
It has been demonstrated that at least two isoforms of CD82 exist.
Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
Purified IgG - liquid
Phosphate buffered saline
Antisera to Human CD82 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
A peptide corresponding to a 15 amino acid sequence from near the carboxy terminus of Human CD82.
