Protein Name & Synonyms:
Follistatin
Applications:
ELISA (dilution: 0.1, 0.2ug/ml), Western Blotting
Concentration:
IgG concentration 1.0mg/ml after reconstitution
Preparation:
Antisera to human follistatin were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Reconstitution:
Reconstitute with 0.1ml distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. RayBiotech recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended. N.B. For functional studies do not add sodium azide
Species Reactivity:
Human
This product is specific for human follistatin (FST), a single-chain glycosylated secreted protein of gonadal origin, originally identified as an antagonist of activin and suppressor of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) synthesis/secretion.
As well as activin, FST interacts with and inhibits other members of the transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) superfamily, such as bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) -2, -4 and -7, myostatin and growth differentiation factor 9 (GDF-9), making FST a key regulator in development and regeneration processes.
Prior to reconstitution store at +4 °C.
After reconstitution store at -20 °C.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 12 months after receipt.
