This product is specific for human IL-15 (Interleukin-15), a 14kDa immunomodulatory glycoprotein expressed by multiple tissues and cell types, which primarily stimulates T lymphocytes, but is also critical for the development and activation of natural killer cells (NK).
IL-15 shares functional properties with IL-2 and binds with high affinity to the IL-15 receptor (IL-15R), consisting of the IL-15R alpha chain, and also the IL-2Rbeta and common gamma chains used by the IL-2 receptor. Affects of IL-15 have been linked with cells and tissues unrelated to the immune system, and increased expression of IL-15 has been demonstrated in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), ulcerative colitis (UC) Chron❏'s disease (CD) and lymphoid malignancies, and also conditions affiliated with HIV and HTLV-1 infection.
This product will neutralise IL-15 activity in bioassay systems.
Prior to reconstitution store at +4 °C. Following reconstitution store at -20 °C.
This product should be stored undiluted.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 12 months after receipt.
