Preparation:
Antisera to human MDC were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
Reconstitution:
Reconstitute with 0.1ml distilled water. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended. NB: For functional studies do not add azide.

Specificity
This product is specific for human MDC (macrophage-derived cytokine), otherwise known as CCL22, a member of the CC chemokine family expressed by macrophages, monocyte-derived dendritic cells, epithelial cells, fibroblasts and highly expressed in the thymus.
MDC acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes, dendritic cells, activated T lymphocytes and NK cells, through binding to chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 4 (CCR4). CCR4 is selectively expressed by Th2 cells and several studies have revealed a link between MDC and another ligand of CCR4, known as activation-regulated chemokine (TARC/CCL17), with Th2-mediated inflammatory disorders such as atopic dermatitis.

Storage/Stability
Prior to reconstitution store at +4 °C.
After reconstitution store at -20 °C.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 12 months after receipt.
