This product is specific for human MIP-1 beta, otherwise known as CCL4, a 69 amino acid member of the CC chemokine family, shown to signal through the chemokine receptors CCR1, CCR2 and CCR5.
MIP-1 beta is involved in host defence against invading pathogens, acting as a regulator of activation and trafficking of inflammatory cells, such as monocytes, B cells, NK cells, neutrophils, dendritic cells and CD4+ lymphocytes.
The secretion of MIP-1 beta by CD8+ lymphocytes has been shown to act as a major HIV-suppressive factor (HIV-SF) through binding to CCR5, identified as a coreceptor for HIV-1 target cell entry.
Prior to reconstitution store at +4 °C.
After reconstitution store at -20 °C.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 12 months after receipt.
