Preparation:
Antisera to human MIP-3 alpha were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
Reconstitution:
Reconstitute with 0.1ml distilled water. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended. N.B. For functional studies do not add azide.

Specificity
This product is specific for human MIP-3 alpha, (Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 3 alpha), otherwise known as CCL20, a 70 amino acid CC chemokine predominantly expressed by the liver, lymph nodes, appendix, spleen and pancreas and also by the thymus, small intestine, fetal lungs and PBLs.
MIP-3 alpha acts as a chemoattractant for memory T lymphocytes, immature dendritic cells and B lymphocytes, being the only CC chemokine known to bind to the G-protein linked 7-transmembrane receptor CCR6. Further properties of MIP-3 alpha include antimicrobial activity, inhibition of the in vitro proliferation of bone marrow immature myeloid progenitors and the stimulation of the growth and migration of pancreatic carcinoma cells.

Storage/Stability
Prior to reconstitution store at +4 °C.
After reconstitution store at -20 °C.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 12 months after receipt.
