Applications:
ELISA (recommended work dilution= 1:2,000-5,000(at least))
Preparation:
Immunogen was synthetic peptide derived from human Orexin A. This antibody was obtained from a rabbit immunized with the immunogen. The IgG fraction of immunized serum was purified by affinity chromatographies.
Reconstitution:
A separate vial of dilution buffer is provided for reconstitution. The antibody is supplied lyophilized, originally containing PBS, without preservative stabilizers (e.g. sodium azide). The final amount is indicated on the shipping vial.
Orexin A is active biological orexigenic peptide composed of 33 amino acids. It and Orexin B were derived from the same precursor peptide (131 amino acids) by proteolytic processing and are highly specifically localized in neurons located in the lateral hypothalamic area, a region classically implicated in feeding behavior. Both neuropeptides have no significant structural similarities to known families of regulatory peptides. They plays a central role in the integrated control of feeding and energy homeostasis.
The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4°C for 1 month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
The antibody is able to bind to immunized peptide, but not other unrelated peptides in ELISA. It also specifically detects cellular protein derived from selected cell lines. This antibody shows no crossreactivity with other unrelated protein.
