Preparation:
Antisera to PPAR delta were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.

This product detects a band of approximately 55kDa in heart whole cell lysates.
Specificity
This product detects peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor, delta (PPARD), a member of the nuclear hormone receptor subfamily. Upon activation, PPARD forms heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs), and functions to regulate transcription of specific gene sequences. PPARD controls genes involved in lipid metabolism, and enhances fatty acid catabolism and energy uncoupling in adipose tissue and skeletal muscle.
PPARD has also been implicated in the proliferation and differentiation of preadipocytes, enterocytes, keratinocytes and the placenta.
PPARD agonists could be used therapeutically to target multiple components of the metabolic syndrome, including insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and atherosclerosis.

Storage/Stability
Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
