This product detects a band of approximately 14kDa in Daudi cell lysates.

Specificity

This product recognizes secretory leukocyte protease inhibitor (SLPI), a 14kD non-glycosylated protein produced by secretory cells in the respiratory, genital and lacrimal glands, and by macrophages, B-cells and neutrophils.

The functions of SLPI are diverse. The SLPI protein inhibits protease activity at sites of inflammation, protecting tissues against protease mediated damage and it possesses anti-microbial/anti-viral activity. In addition, SLPI has been reported to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties, regulating lipopolysaccharide induced activation of NF-kappa beta in peripheral blood monocytes.

Storage/Stability

Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.

This product should be stored undiluted.

Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
