Preparation:

This product detects a band of approximately 30kDa in 293 cell lysate.
Specificity
This product detects Slug, a member of the Snail family of zinc finger transcription factors, whose expression is induced by FGF, BMP, and TGF-β. Slug is a 29kD transcriptional repressor, which functions by binding to E-box motifs and inhibiting gene expression by recruiting histone deacetylase-1 (HDAC-1).
Slug controls the expression of a wide variety of genes including TP53, BRCA2, PUM and CDH1, and has important roles in apoptosis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. It is also thought to function in neural crest development.
Slug expression in breast, oesophageal, and colorectal carcinomas has been correlated with poor prognosis for survival. This product is not cross-reactive with Snail.

Storage/Stability
Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
