Protein Name & Synonyms:
SPHK1
Applications:
Immunohistology - Paraffin
Concentration (lot specific):
IgG concentration 1.0mg/ml
Preparation:
Antisera to SphK1 were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbit with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
Species Reactivity:
Human
This product detects an epitope within the N-terminal region human SphK1, also known sphingosine kinase 1. SphK1 catalyzes the phosphorylation of sphingosine 1-phosphate; an important lipid mediator with multiple functions. In light of this, SphK1 has been implicated in regulation of Ca2+ homoeostasis, inflammation, immunity and cancer growth. However, its central function is thought to be in the development of the cardiovascular and central nervous system. SphK1 has a molecular weight of 42kD.
Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
