Western blot analysis of rat brain shows a single band of approximately 110 kDa co-migrating with GluR1 expressed in transfected cells.
Immunohistology:
Paraformaldehyde or paraformaldehyde/glutaraldehyde are suitable. Cryostat and vibratome sections can be used with or without Triton X-100 treatment.
Specificity
This product recognizes the glutamate receptor 1 (also known as AMPA) which acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. Binding of the excitatory neurotransmitter L-glutamate induces a conformation change, leading to the opening of the cation channel, and thereby converts the chemical signal to an electrical impulse. The receptor then desensitizes rapidly and enters a transient inactive state, characterized by the presence of bound agonist.

Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 12 months after receipt.
