Protein Name & Synonyms:
GluR1 (pSer831)
Applications:
Western Blotting
Preparation:
Antisera to phosphorylated GluR1 were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by sequential affinity chromatography on phospho- and dephosphopeptide affinity columns.
Species Reactivity:
Rat, Human, mouse
This product detects a band of approximately 100 kDa in rat brain lysates.
This antibody is specific for rat glutamate receptor subunit 1 (GluR1) when phosphorylated at serine 831.
GluR1, widely expressed throughout the nervous system, is a component of AMPA receptors (alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxalone propionic acid receptors), which play a key role at excitatory synapses.
Phosphorylation of Ser831 and Ser845 is reported to potentiate GluR1 function, suggesting a possible role in synaptic plasticity, learning and memory.
Store at +4 °C or -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 12 months after receipt.
