The Immunogen was recombinant protein derived from human SERPIN A3. This antibody was produced from a rabbit immunized with the immunogen. The IgG fraction was purified from rabbit serum by ammonium sulphate precipitation followed by Protein A/G affinity chromatography.
Product is supplied as a powder obtained from lyophilization of purified antibody in PBS without preservatives. Reconstitute the antibody with sterile 1 x PBS to a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
The SERPIN A3 protein is a plasma protease inhibitor and member of the serine protease inhibitor class. Polymorphisms in this protein appear to be tissue specific and influence protease targeting. Variations in this protein's sequence have been implicated in Alzheimer's disease, and deficiency of this protein has been associated with liver disease. Mutations have been identified in patients with Parkinson disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This protein is produced in the liver, and is an acute phase protein that is induced during inflammation. Deficiency of this protein has been associated with liver disease. SERPIN A3 is also associated with the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease as it enhances the formation of amyloid-fibrils in this disease.
The antibody specifically binds to human SERPIN A3 Cross reactivity with mouse and rat were not tested.
Store at 4°C if intended for use within one month, otherwise, store at -20°C to -80°C. The lyophilized antibody is stable for at least 18 months after the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -80°C. After reconstitution, it can also be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20°C to -80°C in a manual defrost freezer for 6 months without detectable loss of activity. Upon reconstitution, the antibody can also be stored for 30 days at 4°C. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles, as this will lower the activity of the antibody.
