Protein Name & Synonyms:
Prothymosin alpha [Cleaved into: Prothymosin alpha, N-terminally processed, Thymosin alpha-1]
ELISA (recommended work dilution= 1:32,000), Western Blotting (recommended work dilution= 1:1,000-5,002),
This antibody was produced from antiserum of rabbits immunized with a polypeptide immunogen. The IgG fraction was purified by Protein G/A affinity chromatography.
Product is supplied as a powder obtained from lyophilization of purified antibody in PBS without preservatives. Reconstitute the antibody with sterile 1 x PBS to a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Thymosin ?1 is a peptide fragment derived from prothymosin alpha, a protein that in humans is encoded by the PTMA gene.Thymosin ?1 is believed to be a major component of Thymosin Fraction 5 responsible for the activity of that preparation in restoring immune function in animals lacking thymus glands. It was the first of the peptides from Thymosin Fraction 5 to be completely sequenced and synthesized. It has been found to enhance cell-mediated immunity in humans as well as experimental animals.
The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4°C for 1 month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
