Preparation:
Antiserum to human salivary amylase was raised by repeated immunisation of sheep with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.

This product recognizes salivary amylase, formally known as ptyalin, an alpha-amylase digestive enzyme and member of the glycosyl hydrolase 13 family, which breaks down insoluble starch into soluble starches (dextrins) and maltose.
This product also recognizes porcine pancreatic amylase (50%) and weakly fungal amylase (10%).
Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
