CD117 is a receptor for stem cell factor and is expressed on pluripotent hematopoietic progenitor cells mast cells, and acute myeloid leukemia cells. When CD117 and its ligand bind, autophosphorylation and dimerization are induced. This activates intracellular signalling pathways essential for the growth and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells.

Each lot of antibody has been tested by flow cytometry staining. Researchers are recommended to further titrate this antibody at the optimal concentration for each specific application.
