Sample Service Forms
How much sample volume is needed?
Note: It is preferable to send double the volumes listed below, just in case we need to repeat the experiment.
ELISA
100 µl minimum per replicate per analyte (e.g., triplicate runs would require 300 µl of sample, and triplicates for 2 analytes would require 600 µl of sample).
SIMOA
- Human serum or plasma: 150 µl
- Human cerebrospinal fluid (CSF): 10 µl
- Mouse serum or plasma: 120 µl
- Mouse CSF: 8 µl
- p-Tau217 requires a slightly larger sample volume. Contact tech support for more details.
NexaTag™
20 µl per sample per analyte
Label-Based Antibody Arrays (L-Series) – membrane format
- Serum or Plasma – minimum volume is 40 µl per sample
- Cell Culture Supernatant – minimum volume is 5 mL per sample
- Cell or Tissue Lysates - minimum volume is 500 µl (at ~2 mg/ml) per sample
Label-Based Antibody Arrays (L-Series) – glass slide format
- Serum or Plasma – minimum volume is 40 µl per sample
- Cell Culture Supernatant – minimum volume is 500 µL per sample
- Cell or Tissue Lysates - minimum volume is 200-500 µl (at ~2 mg/ml) per sample
Note: If using cell culture supernatant samples, serum-free or low-serum containing media such as 0.2% FBS/FCS is preferred. For serum-containing media samples, sending an uncultured media blank sample is strongly recommended.
Sandwich-Based Membrane Antibody Arrays (C-Series)
- Serum/Plasma/Cell Culture Supernatant/Other Body Fluids – minimum volume is 1 mL per sample.
- Cell or Tissue Lysates – minimum volume is 200 µl (at 1-5 mg/ml) per sample.
Note: For the C2000 Arrays, send 2 times these amounts. For the C4000 Array, send 3 times these amounts.
Sandwich-Based Glass Slide Antibody Arrays (G-Series and Quantibody Arrays)
- Serum/Plasma/Cell Culture Supernatant/Other Body Fluids – minimum volume is 100 µL per sample per array.
- Cell or Tissue Lysates – minimum volume is 20 µl (at 1-5 mg/ml) per sample per array
Note: For G-1000/Q-1000 Arrays, send 2 times these amounts. For the G-2000/Q-2000 Arrays, send 3 times these amounts. For the Q-3000 Array, send 4 times these amounts. For the G-4000/Q-4000 Arrays, send 5 times these amounts. For the Q-5000 Array, send 6 times these amounts. For the Q-6000 Array, send 7 times these amounts. For the Q7000 Array, send 8 times these amounts. For the Q8000 Array, send 9 times these amounts.
Flow Cytometry Services
The minimum number of cells required for flow cytometry service depends on the starting cell type and the cell type being detected. Below are minimum cell number requirements per sample for some of the most commonly detected cell types. Please note it is better to have double the amount of minimum cell numbers listed below if possible.
- PBMCs or RBC-lysed whole blood cells
- T and B cells: 1 million cells
- NK cells: 2 million cells
- Dendritic cells: 2 million cells
- Monocytes: 1 million cells
- ILCs: 2.5 million cells
- MDSCs: 2 million cells
- RBC-lysed whole blood cells
- Granulocytes (Neutrophils, Basophils and Eosinophils): 2 million cells
- Cord blood cells
- Lymphocytes: 1 million cells
- MSCs: 2.5 million cells
