Description

Specificity

This product specifically recognizes mouse CDw198, otherwise known as CCR8 (C-C chemokine receptor type 8), a transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family, which acts a high-affinity receptor for the chemokine I-309 (CCL1), implicated in the regulation of monocyte chemotaxis and thymocyte apoptosis.

CDw198 is constitutively expressed by monocytes, preferentially expressed on Th2 (type 2 helper T) cells, and acts as a co-receptor with CD4 for HIV1 infection.

Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.

Preparation

Antiserum to mouse CDw198 was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.

Synthetic peptide PNVTMTDYYPDFFTAPCDAEFLLRGSM corresponding to amino acids 7-33 of mouse CDw198.
