We bought this bead along with a kit containing bead and conjugation reagent (Conjugation Kit for Hi-Sur Mag Carboxyl Magnetic Beads (1 µm), 8CHK-1), both beads have the same name, CODE, and description on the website, so we assumed they are the same (they do have different Lot#). They are apparently not the same. This bead is yellow in color vs black of the one from the kit, with a significantly lower solid particle percentage. What's more, the conjugation activity is also different, the method works perfectly for the beads from the kit does not work for this one. However, after some modification in the conjugation process, these beads still work well for my purpose (oligo conjugation for nucleic acid purification). The concern here is the label/description of the products or batch consistency/quality control.
