| Specificity | This product reacts with the diphtheria toxin/toxoid. Diphtheria toxin is an exotoxin secreted by various strains of Corynebacterium diphtheriae that is the cause of Diphtheria. The active toxin is a single chain of 535 amino acids composed of 3 distinct structural/functional domains; and N-terminal ADP-ribosyltransferase (catalytic domain); a region which facilitates the delivery of the catalytic domain across the cell membrane (transmembrane domain) and the eukaryotic cell receptor binding domain. |
