A magnetic separation system designed to hold and separate to the side of the tubes for up to 60 tubes of 11-13 mm diameter (e.g. glass test tubes). The two-piece unit consists of a test tube rack which fits over a magnetic separation rack containing rare earth magnet. The two piece design allows the flexibility for samples to be set up, incubated and magnetically separated without removing the tubes from the test tube rack.

Place test tubes in the test tube holder, place the test tube holder on top of the magnetic separation rack and allow separation to proceed from 2-10 minutes depending on the size of the particles. With the rack in place invert the unit to decant the tubes.

Separation unit can be used for a variety of applications including cell sorting, purification of proteins, molecular biology, immunoassays, etc.

Strong magnetic field. The separator should be used and stored at a safe distance from magnetic media, videotapes, credit cards, etc.
