Immunogen was a recombinant protein of human enterovirus 71-VP1. This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with the immunogen. The IgG fraction of tissue culture supernatant was purified by Protein G/A affinity chromatography.
A separate vial of dilution buffer is provided for reconstitution. The antibody is supplied lyophilized, originally containing PBS, without preservative stabilizers (e.g. sodium azide). The final amount is indicated on the shipping vial.
Enterovirus 71 (EV-71) is notable as one of the major causative agents for hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD), and is sometimes associated with severe central nervous system diseases. To date, little is known about the molecular mechanisms of host response to EV71 infection, but increases in the level of mRNAs encoding chemokines, proteins involved in protein degradation, complement proteins, and proapoptotis proteins have been implicated.
The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4°C for 1 month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
The mouse anti-human enterovirus 71-VP1 antibody detects protein derived from HEV without any cross reactivity against unrelated proteins.
