Antibody Specifications

Applications:
ELISA (recommended work dilution= 1: 80,000), Western Blotting (recommended work dilution= to be defined)
Conjugation/Tag:
Biotin
Host Species:
Rabbit
Preparation:
Immunogen was a recombinant protein of human enterovirus 71-VP1 expressed in E.Coli. This antibody was produced from a rabbit immunized with the immunogen. The IgG fraction was purified from rabbit serum followed by Protein A/G affinity chromatography.
Reconstitution:
A separate vial of dilution buffer is provided for reconstitution. The antibody is supplied lyophilized, originally containing PBS, without preservative stabilizers (e.g. sodium azide). The final amount is indicated on the shipping vial.
Isotype:
IgG

Description

Enterovirus 71 (EV-71) is notable as one of the major causative agents for hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD), and is sometimes associated with severe central nervous system diseases. To date, little is known about the molecular mechanisms of host response to EV71 infection, but increases in the level of mRNAs encoding chemokines, proteins involved in protein degradation, complement proteins, and proapoptotis proteins have been implicated.

Storage / Stability

The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4°C for 1 month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Specificity

The rabbit anti-enterovirus 71-VP1 antibody specifically detected target derived from human enterovirus 71-VP1 recombinant protein. The fine specificity to viral protein was not defined.
