NMB (47-56) encodes a member of the bombesin-like family of neuropeptides, which negatively regulate eating behavior. The encoded protein may regulate colonic smooth muscle contraction through binding to its cognate receptor, the neuromedin B receptor (NMBR). Polymorphisms of this gene may be associated with hunger, weight gain and obesity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20^°C to -70^°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4^°C for 1 month or at -20^°C to -70^°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity.
