Introduction
Mutations in TSC2 lead to tuberous sclerosis complex. This protein is believed to be a tumor suppressor and is able to specifically stimulate the intrinsic GTPase activity of the Ras-related protein RAP1A and RAB5. TSC2 associates with hamartin in a cytosolic complex, possibly acting as a chaperone for hamartin. It may have a function in vesicular transport, but may also play a role in the regulation of cell growth arrest and in the regulation of transcription mediated by steroid receptors. Interaction between TSC1 and TSC2 may facilitate vesicular docking.

 | Fluorescent confocal image of Hela cell stained with Tuberin (TSC2) Antibody (S1798)(Cat# 102-16756).Hela cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.1%, 10 min), then incubated with Tuberin (TSC2) primary antibody (1:25, 1 h at 37°). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor® 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (green) was used (1:400, 50 min at 37°).Cytoplasmic actin was counterstained with Alexa Fluor® 555 (red) conjugated Phalloidin (7units/ml, 1 h at 37°). Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue) (10 µg/ml, 10 min).Tuberin (TSC2) immunoreactivity is localized to Cytoplasm significantly. |
