Description
Vitellogenin is a phospholipoglycoprotein universally existing in all oviparous organisms. As a major reproductive protein, vitellogenin involves in the progress of reproduction and development of oviparous animals. In recent years, vitellogenin has attracted increasing attentions. One of the most exciting aspects is the mechanism of its immune defense as a multivalent pattern recognition receptor.
