IL-4 is a T cell product originally described as B cell growth factor by virtue of its ability to co-stimulate B lymphocyte proliferation (1). It has broad effects on B cells, including the promotion of Ig class switching to IgE and IgGl isotypes in activated B cells. In addition to regulating B lymphocyte growth and differentiation, IL-4 modulates the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of T lymphocytes, as well as a wide range of hematopoietic cell lineages, thereby contributing to allergic and other immune processes.

The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4°C for 1 month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

The antibody specifically detected protein derived from rat. It also recognizes tested samples containing IL-4 in both ELISA and WB. This antibody shows no cross-reactivity with human IL-4 and other unrelated proteins.
