CD86 is the ligand for CD28 and CD154 (CTLA-4) and is expressed on activated B and T cells, monocytes/macrophages, dendritic cells, and astrocytes. CD86 has been shown to aid with triggering of NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity as well as immunoglobulin class-switching.

Each lot of antibody has been tested by flow cytometry staining. Researchers are recommended to further titrate this antibody at the optimal concentration for each specific application.
