Parathyroid hormone-related protein (or PTH-RP) is a protein member of the parathyroid hormone family. It is occasionally secreted by cancer cells (breast cancer, certain types of lung cancer includingsquamous cell lung carcinoma). However, it also has normal functions.PTHrP acts as an endocrine, autocrine, paracrine, and intracrine hormone. It regulates endochondral bone development by maintaining the endochondral growth plate at a constant width. It also regulates epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during the formation of the mammary glands.Diseases associated with PTHLH include Brachydactyly, Type E2 and Brachydactyly, Type E. Among its related pathways are Signaling by GPCR and Peptide ligand-binding receptors.

The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20^°C to -70^°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4^°C for 1 month or at -20^°C to -70^°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity.
