PBP2A has a low affinity for beta-lactam antibiotics such as methicillin and penicillin. This enables transpeptidase activity in the presence of beta-lactams, preventing them from inhibiting cell wall synthesis.

The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. The reconstituted antibody can be aliquotted and stored at 4°C for 1 month or at -20°C to -70°C for many months without detectable loss of activity. Please avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
