Anti-Adiponectin/Acrp30 Antibody

Adiponectin is composed of four distinct domains: a signal peptide at the N terminus, a short variable region, a collagenous domain, and a C-terminal globular domain homologous to C1q. The crystal structure of adiponectin globular domain reveals a striking resemblance to the structure of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha. Adiponectin belongs to a growing family of proteins, all of which contain a Cterminal globular C1q-like domain of ?135 aa. Most of them also contain a variable number of “Gly-XY” (where X and Y represent any amino acid) collagenous repeats. Adiponectin is expressed exclusively by differentiated adipocytes and its expression is induced ?100-fold during adipocyte differentiation. Serum levels of adiponectin correlate inversely with insulin sensitivity. In healthy adults, adiponectin circulates in serum at a high concentration (1.9–17.0 ?g/ml). Adiponectin levels are significantly reduced in a variety of obese and insulin-resistant states in mice, monkeys, and humans.

The rabbit anti-human Acrp30 antibody detected specifically human recombinant protein and cellular protein from cell lysates at various concentrations. Cross reactivity with mouse and rat are expected from sequence similarity.

Always prepare single-use aliquots planning use while receiving package. A small amount of antibody can be kept at 4°C for daily use. For a long storage, recommend to keep them at -20°C after adding an equal volume of glycerol in PBS. It will not lose activity over a year. Minimize freezing and thawing when use.
