Immunogen
The immunogen was a recombinant protein. This antibody was produced from a rabbit immunized with the immunogen. The IgG fraction was purified from rabbit serum followed by Protein A/G affinity chromatography.
Recommended ApplicationsELISA (recommended work dilution= 1: 8, 000), Western Blotting (recommended work dilution= 1:1000-5, 000) , (see image) Immunodetection Analysis: Representative blot from a previous lot. Lane 1.recombinant protein ADIPOQ.The membrane blot was probed with anti-ADIPOQ primary antibody (0.2 µg/ml). Proteins were visualized using a Donkey anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to IRDye 800CW detection system. Arrows indicate recombinant proteinADIPOQ from E.coli cell (15kDa).

Description

Description

Human Adiponectin (ADIPOQ) is a protein involved in the control of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity. Adiponectin/APM1 is a hormone secreted by adipocytes that regulates energy homeostasis and glucose and lipid metabolism. APM1 gene is exclusively expressed in adipose tissue. The protein, also known as gelatin-binding protein, has high similarity with collagens X and VIII and complement factor C1q. Studies suggest that APM1 protein may be a collagen-like secretory protein. Defects in adiponectin are the cause of adiponectin deficiency. The result is a very low concentration of plasma adiponectin which is associated with obesity insulin resistance, and diabetes type 2.

Specificity

This antibody binds to its immunogen, and did not show any cross reactivity with unrelated antigens in ELISA. Cross reactivity with mouse and rat ADIPOQ has not been tested yet.

Storage

Store at 4°C if intended for use within one month, otherwise, store at -20°C to -80°C. The lyophilized antibody is stable for at least 18 months after the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -87°C. After reconstitution, it can be aliquoted and stored
