Anti-Caspase-3 Antibody, Biotinylated

Caspases are a family of cytosolic aspartate-specific cysteine proteases involved in the initiation and execution of apoptosis. Caspase-3 (CPP-32, Apoptain, Yama, SCA-1) is a critical executioner of apoptosis, as it is either partially or totally responsible for the proteolytic cleavage of many key proteins, such as the nuclear enzyme poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), and is either partially or totally responsible for the proteolytic cleavage of many key proteins during apoptosis, such as poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP). Caspase-3 is a cytosolic protein found in cells as an inactive 32 kDa proenzyme. It is activated by proteolytic cleavage into two active subunits only when cells undergo apoptosis.

The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4°C for 1 month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

This antibody binds to its immunogen, and did not show any cross reactivity with unrelated antigens in ELISA. Cross reactivity with mouse and rat Caspase-3 has not yet been tested.
