Specificity	This product specifically recognizes CD257 (otherwise known as BAFF/BLyS), a 285 amino acid type II transmembrane protein and member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily of ligands, which acts as a B and T cell stimulator and plays a role in the development of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus. CD257 is expressed by monocytes, macrophages, T cells and dendritic cells and acts through binding to CD267 (TACI), CD269 (BCMA) and CD268 (BAFFR) receptors, the latter interaction playing a critical role in the activation, survival, differentiation and proliferation of B cells. This antibody has not been cross-adsorbed and may react with homologous proteins from related species.

Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 12 months after receipt.
